I know I constantly have ideas for new projects, and with work, school, and job applications I maybe shouldn't be taking on anything else. I'm excited about this one though, and I don't foresee it taking up that much extra time, so here's the plan:
Try new restaurants around D.C. every weekend. Write about them. That's it, quite simple.
But, here's the series of events that inspired this new plan. On Friday we (the Georgetown girls minus Jen) were going to go to Kramers, one of our favorite standby places, but Caitlin suggested we try someplace new. That turned out well, and the next day, I stayed at Nalani's place in Chinatown. I went to grab some lunch in her neighborhood and was overwhelmed by my options. I ended up at Fuddruckers, because a) I love cheeseburgers, b) I needed something quick, and c) I panicked at the idea of choosing from the approximately 1,485 unfamiliar restaurants in that 6 block radius. I decided the time of being overwhelmed and stuck in a rut was over.
Here's the other benefits: Eating out is expensive, and yeah I don't have much money. However I spend a nice chunk of what I do have eating out for lunches and weekday dinners because I'm too lazy to cook. If I know I'm going to a new and fun place on the weekend, maybe I'll be less likely to shell out money at Subway for lunch every day. The other benefit is that this might actually motivate me to get out of the damn house. I've rarely been doing stuff on the weekends and yeah that might be due to the snowpocolypse but its also just lack of motivation. Maybe I'll even get to see Josh, Lou, Nalani, and some other people I see far too infrequently.
Ok so that's the plan. Let's see how it goes...
